Scott Wooten, FACHE
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Scott Wooten, FACHE, joined Baptist Health in 2014 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, after serving as Chief Financial Officer at Alegent Creighton Health in Omaha, Neb., from 2006 to 2014. Wooten began his more than 30-year career in corporate finance as an auditor for Price Waterhouse in Denver, Colo. After serving as a controller for a two-hospital health system in Dayton, Ohio, he went on to become a Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at four major health systems in three different states. At Baptist Health, Wooten serves as the strategic advisor to the CEO and is a senior staff member to the board of directors, serving on such committees as patient quality and safety, finance, audit and compliance, pension and investments. A native Nebraskan, Wooten earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Union College in Lincoln, Neb., and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Dayton. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
As part of his community involvement, Wooten serves as treasurer and board chair-elect of the Cathedral Arts Project and is a past treasurer of the Cultural Council of Jacksonville. He is a member of the American Heart Association’s First Coast board of directors, the First Coast Heart Walk Executive Cabinet, and the United Way of North Florida Campaign Cabinet. He is also involved with a number of community activities supporting Wolfson Children’s Hospital, including serving in The DreamCoat Society and volunteering at the annual Wolfson Children’s Challenge Telethon. He was recently named one of nine honorees of the United Way’s Atlantic Circle. In his spare time he is a member of Old Patróns, a band comprised of local business leaders who perform at events like the Downtown Art Walk.
