Job Summary
Wolfson Children's Diabetes Center is looking for a Community Nurse Educator to join our team! This is a Full-Time position from Monday-Friday.
The Community Nurse Educator for Wolfson's will work directly with patients and patients' families to educate on their diabetes diagnosis.
This role will be responsible for:
- Providing pediatric diabetes instruction in group and individual sessions, in accordance with patient education standards set by the American Diabetes Association and departmental policy.
- Participating in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities.
- Accurately documenting and monitoring activities as needed.
- Supporting quality standards and initiatives set by department.
- Collaboration with inpatient staff involved in child’s care and regularly attends department meetings.
- Participating in community activities as requested for children and families with diabetes including but not limited to: Presentation of educational lectures to children, parents, healthcare professionals and the community in general and Diabetes camp experience.
- Complying with the American Diabetes Association Education Recognition Program requirements for continuing education until CDE credential is obtained.
- Collaboratively work with Nemours Endocrinology department and support endocrinologists during clinic visits

Bachelor's Degree - Nursing

Master's Degree - Nursing
Experience
- Three-Five Years Experience Working with Children with Diabetes
License and Certification
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) Preferred
- Licensed Registered Nurse OR Licensed Dietitian Required Or
