Job Summary

Baptist Medical Center is looking to add a Health Unit Coordinator in our Progressive Care Unit at Baptist South. This PRN Weekends opportunity.

The primary responsibilities of the Health Unit Coordinator will be:

  • Performing clerical and secretarial activities of the nursing units;
  • Answering call lights and telephones promptly;
  • Ordering inventory of unit supplies and equipment;
  • Maintaining patient chart folders;
  • Entering patient charges and procedure scheduling;
  • Greeting and assisting all customers while adhering to service excellence principles;
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly nursing station;
  • Supporting Nurse Managers.

Education Required

Education Preferred

Associate's Degree


  • 1-2 years Clerical Experience
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology

License and Certification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
