Job Summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Medicare Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist to join our Baptist Physician Services. This is a Full-Time, Days, Hybrid opportunity.  Hybrid is 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.  

As a Medicare Risk Adjusment Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Use Hierachical Condition Categories coding to conduct chart reviews of inpatient, outpatient and professional clinical documentation and diagnostic results to identify opportunities and ensure accurate coding and documentation.
  • Provide in person and virtual education
  • Run reports from multiple applications (including Stanson)

Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Education Preferred

Associate's Degree

Experience

  • Over 5 years Insurance Billing
  • 2 years Coding Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Medicare Requirements
  • Reimbursement Experience
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
  • Experience working in a Medical Office

License and Certification

  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Required Or
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Required Or
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Required Or
  • Certified Professional Coder-Hospital Outpatient (CPC-H) Required Or
  • Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) Preferred
