Baptist Medical Center is currently hiring experienced Registered Nurses (RN) to join our Critical Care Transport team at Wolfson Children's Hospital located in Jacksonville, FL. Covering North Florida and South Georgia, our Kids Kare vehicles and helicopter safely transport more over 2,000 infants and children to Wolfson Children’s for emergency, trauma, and specialty care each year.

Responsibilities of the Critical Care Transport Nurse include but are not limited to:

Performs basic life support, advanced life support and critical care nursing.

Functions under standing orders of the physician or Medical Director and is expected to perform assessments, provide treatment, and monitor patients during inter-facility transports.

Has strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Remains calm and focused possessing strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to effectively assess patients and provide appropriate treatment.

Responsible for the care of the patient including any emergency procedures the patient may require while under their care.

These procedures may include but are not limited to CPR and endotracheal intubation, needle aspiration of the chest and umbilical assess during emergency medication delivery.

Required License, Credentials, and Experience:

Current / valid Florida Nursing License

ACLS, PALS, BLS from American Heart Association

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification

Combined Pediatric and Neonate Team:

4,000 hours minimum experience that includes:

Pediatric Critical Care or Pediatric Emergency Care and State required 2,000 hours of Level II or Level III NICU

Pediatric Only Ground Team, Variable Days, Middle Shift

Associate's Degree - Nursing

  • 1-2 years NICU Experience
  • 1-2 years PICU Experience
  • 1-2 years Pediatric Nursing Experience
  • 1-2 years Experience in Neonatal Required

License and Certification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required
