July 22, 2015 | Jacksonville, FL
After an extensive national search, Baptist Health is pleased to announce Peter J. Clagnaz, MD, as medical director of Adult Behavioral Health Services for Baptist Health, effective July 27.
Dr. Clagnaz, who has more than 30 years of experience leading behavioral health care organizations, joins Ellen Williams, PhD, Baptist Health administrator of Behavioral Health, and Michael DeLaHunt, MD, medical director of Pediatric Behavioral Health Services, in leadership of the department.
Dr. Clagnaz will provide treatment on the Adult Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, perform psychiatric consults and assume administrative duties from former medical director Michael Solloway, MD, who, after many years of dedicated service, has decided to devote his time solely to patient care at the AgeWell Center for Senior Health.
Dr. Clagnaz earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, as well as residencies in internal medicine and psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wis.
“I’m delighted to be here and to be part of a first-class organization deeply involved in the community and I hope to advance the system goals of improving the health and wellness of the region,” Dr. Clagnaz said. “We want to make sure mental health services are accessible and of the highest quality for the citizens of northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.”
