Baptist Health and the Jewish Community Alliance have collaborated to create the Wellness Connexion, an innovative program designed to improve the health of JCA members and the greater community.
The Baptist JCA Wellness Connexion program involves an ongoing presence of Baptist Health wellness coaches onsite at the Jewish Community Alliance, beginning this month. The wellness coaches will partner with JCA staff to provide members with a more comprehensive approach to achieving their personal health and wellness goals.
Services by the wellness coaches will be offered at no charge to JCA members, and will include providing health-risk assessments, screenings, and assistance to help members find the wellness resources they need. The wellness coaches also will provide health education such as helping members understand their blood pressure and body mass index. The JCA will also offer group talks on various medical and health topics as part of this initiative.
“Through this collaboration, we aim to help our members feel better and live well through understanding their current state of health and assisting those who wish to adopt lifestyle changes,” said Myron Flagler, executive director of the JCA, whose campus includes a fitness and wellness center, and other recreational facilities.
“We are honored to partner with the JCA, and we applaud them for addressing wellness in such a holistic and effective way,” added Hugh Greene, president and CEO of Baptist Health.
