Baptist Health Appoints Michael J. Erhard, MD, and Timothy Groover, MD, to Board of Directors

Baptist Health is pleased to announce that Michael J. Erhard, MD, and Timothy Groover, MD, have joined Baptist Health’s board of directors.
Dr. Erhard, a pediatric urologist, is medical director of Nemour’s Children’s Clinic, Jacksonville. He is also the chief of Pediatric Urology for Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours, Jacksonville.
Dr. Erhard received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his urology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He came to Florida in 1995 to complete his fellowship training in pediatric urology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Gainesville. Dr. Erhard received his MBA from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
Dr. Erhard is involved in a number of professional and community organizations. Recently, he was appointed chairman of the Finance and Contracting Committee for Baptist Physician Partners, a partnership of independent and employed physicians designed to deliver outstanding medical care and improved outcomes while reducing inefficiencies.
Dr. Erhard is also chairman of the board for Spina Bifida of Jacksonville and is a board member of Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Partnership for Child Health. He is a member of Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville’s Minimally Invasive Medicine Surgery Committee and is an assistant professor of Urology for Mayo Medical School.
“Dr. Erhard’s ongoing commitment to improving the health of Jacksonville’s children, along with his business acumen and desire to improve the health care system, make him a perfect addition to Baptist Health’s board of directors,” said Hugh Greene, president and CEO of Baptist Health.
Timothy Groover, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist with Florida Anesthesia Associates in Jacksonville and serves on their board of directors. He also serves as chief of staff for Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville and serves as co-chair of the hospital’s Credentials Committee.
Dr. Groover received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital also in Miami. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Groover holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee, and recently earned the prestigious designation as a Certified Physician Executive.
Dr. Groover is the chairman of the board of managers for Baptist Physician Partners. In this capacity, he is responsible for the overall strategy and direction of Baptist Health’s clinical integration program to provide the highest level of quality patient care.
His community involvement impacts local as well as international communities. Dr. Groover has participated in several charitable and medical missions in Africa, Haiti, Grenada and Brazil and has used his expertise to mentor local high school and college students.
