Baptist Medical Center Beaches hosting free skin cancer screenings on Saturday, June 8

The Wilson Cancer Care Center at Baptist Medical Center Beaches will host free skin cancer screenings on Saturday, June 8. The screenings will be conducted from 9 am to noon and will be overseen by Brooke Bair, DO.
Patients will also receive information on risk factors and how to identify the disease. The number one risk factor for skin cancer is exposure to the sun without protection such as sunscreen.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, accounting for nearly half of all cancers nationwide. More than 3.5 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed each year, according to the American Cancer Society.
Screenings are by appointment only and people are asked to please register by Monday, June 3. To register, call 904.202.CARE (2273).
