Dr. Guthrie and Dr. Zaiden join Baptist Oncology Specialists, move to new location week of Jan. 5

Baptist Oncology Specialists welcomes Troy H. Guthrie, Jr., MD, and Robert A. Zaiden, MD, who will begin practicing the week of Jan. 5 in their new offices located in the Pavilion Medical Building on the Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville campus. Drs. Guthrie and Zaiden specialize in brain and spine cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, head and neck cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer and melanoma as well as immunotherapy for cancer; hematologic malignancies and chemotherapy administration.
Dr. Guthrie, a hematologist oncologist, most recently comes from 21st Century Oncology. He was in academic medicine from 1979 to 2005, at which time he assumed medical directorship of the Baptist Cancer Institute. He has provided leading-edge care and emphasized clinical research trials to patients at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. Dr. Guthrie received his doctor of medicine from the Medical College of Georgia and conducted his internship and residency at the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, Texas. His fellowship followed at the Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Zaiden, medical oncologist, most recently comes from UF Health Jacksonville. A former faculty member and clinical assistant professor in hematology and oncology at UF Health Jacksonville, he was directly involved in researching the development of medical treatment plans for lymphomas, breast, and GI cancers. Dr. Zaiden served as medical oncology liaison to both GI and GU tumor boards at UF. Dr. Zaiden received his doctor of medicine degree from St. Matthews University School of Medicine in the British West Indies. His internship, residency and fellowship were at that University of Florida in Jacksonville.
