Who We Are - About Baptist Primary Care
For more than 25 years, the Baptist Health leadership and governing bodies has focused on a collaborative relationship with physicians in our community for the benefit of patients. Baptist Primary Care had its foundation as an employed physician group that started in 1985. That group gradually expanded over the next 15 years and became the group that it is today when it merged with the Jacksonville Health Care Group in January 2001. This created a network of about 65 primary care physicians with 21 offices. The group also includes Endocrinology, Rheumatology and Infectious Disease subspecialties in addition to the core group of Family Practice, General Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and the group provides services at 65 offices from Kingsland, Georgia to World Golf Village in St. John’s County and west to central Clay County. The close relationship with Baptist Health has allowed a higher degree collaboration in managed care contracting and integration through the support of Baptist Physician Partners.
Our New Home in Clay County
Baptist Clay will be the newest facility in the Baptist Health family. This full-service, 100-bed hospital will open fall of 2022, expanding on the existing Baptist Clay Medical Campus. You will have the advantage of joining an established colleague and broad-based support to provide excellent care to your patients. Your success will be built on the firm foundation of Northeast Florida’s largest clinically integrated network with more than 300 primary care physicians at its core. This provides our physicians the collaboration necessary to achieve quality outcomes and the referral opportunity to build robust practices.
There’s a Place for You Here
Whether your preference is suburban, urban or a more rural residential feel, there’s a place for you on Jacksonville’s west side. Clay County is a paradise for those that enjoy being outdoors. Abundant wildlife ranging from bald eagles nesting in the pines to manatees drifting lazily in Doctors Lake, it’s just right outside your door. Fleming Island, along the gorgeous St. Johns River, offers stunning riverfront views and endless opportunities for boating, canoeing, hiking, biking… anything that suits your interests away from the office! Easy access to Jacksonville International, historic St. Augustine, or the beaches of Florida’s First Coast means your weekends hold endless possibilities.
