While October is #BreastCancerAwareness month, we know that cancers of all kinds effect patients of all kinds, all year long.
That's why we partnered with MD Anderson Cancer Center, the #1 Cancer Center in the U.S., in 2015 to open Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville and why in Summer 2018 we will unveil an iconic new Cancer Center to serve as an even brighter beacon of hope for cancer patients in our region.

This year we celebrate 25 years of Buddy Check 12 with our partners Jeannie Blaylock and First Coast News! Today, Jeannie spoke to Baptist Health nurses and nursing students at Jacksonville University about #BreastCancerAwareness and how we can continue to support the Buddy Check mission on the First Coast and beyond.
Ask any woman what color represents #breastcancerawareness, and she will be able to tell you: Pink! Yet, while women are reminded in October to eat healthy and exercise, to check their breasts for lumps once a month and to have an annual mammogram once they are over the age of 40, what about their male counterparts?
This Jacksonville Moms Blog reminds women "when you see the pink, get your spouse to think." Learn more about men's cancer risks and the importance of annual appointments: http://ow.ly/RBQr30fWrr3

October 10 is World Mental Health Day. Globally, more than 300 million people suffer from depression, the leading cause of disability, and more than 260 million are living with an anxiety disorder. Many live with both.
Would you know how to recognize the signs and help someone in the event of a mental health crisis? Just as CPR training helps a person with no clinical training assist someone following a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps a person assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis such as contemplating suicide.
We've teamed up with other local healthcare organizations to offer free training courses for first responders, caregivers, parents, teachers and the public. Visit jaxmentalhealth.org to find an upcoming class near you.

If you experience frequent sinus pain and pressure, it could be a sign that your sinuses are obstructed – and over-the-counter medications such as nasal decongestants and antihistamines may not be enough to help them function normally.

Changing healthcare for good in our community is what Baptist Health is all about. Access, affordable care, and a lack of knowledge about services and dozens of other factors contributed to a wide range of health care needs among communities in northeast Florida. That is the conclusion of a newly released study commissioned by a group of local health care organizations. The Jacksonville Metropolitan Community Benefit Partnership, which includes Baptist Health and @wolfsonchildrens, recently released its second Community Health Needs Assessment. You can read Baptist and Wolfson's hospital-specific reports at the link in profile.
