Tune into @wjxt4 at 8:40am to hear Dr. Satpathy talk about a new heart valve placement procedure that gets patients back in action sooner!
After just one day, 78-year-old Vernon Camp was back at home with a new heart valve and a new reason to bang the drum. The long-time musician received his valve replacement under conscious sedation versus general anesthesia which allows for shorter procedure time, reduced length of stay and lower overall cost.
Baptist Health is the only hospital in Jacksonville offering this option thanks to Dr. Satpathy and her team. http://bapt.st/sJyW307Wq6o

For their annual holiday donation drive, the Baptist Health Caring Council collected blankets and hygiene items for JASMYN. About 20% of the youth that JASMYN serves are homeless or have insecure housing. They receive intensive case management services and connection to shelter, as well as backpacks with hygiene items and other essentials that make their transition easier. The Baptist Health Caring Council brings together team members from across Baptist Health to support an authentic caring environment for staff and patients!
Merry Christmas to you and yours from Baptist Health, and a big thank you to our team members who are at work across our 5 hospitals and other facilities today serving our community through the holiday.
