Lauren Goworowski, PsyD

Lauren Goworowski, PsyD, is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who began her career in Psychology working with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, in Primary Care. Dr. Goworowski has extensive experience in both inpatient medical and outpatient settings, and enjoys working with patients who present with a variety of concerns, from wanting to make healthy lifestyle changes to coping with adjustment to a life-altering diagnosis. About Me

I have enjoyed living in Jacksonville since I moved here from Jackson, Mississippi in 2021. I love spending time at the beach, swimming, and exploring all that the area has to offer with my dog, Gracie, and close friends and family.

My philosophy of care is to listen intently to my patients and ask specific, relevant questions to really understand their unique situation and contributing factors. I feel that my ability to empathize with others, and provide empowerment, allows me to most effectively work with individuals who are contending with life-altering diagnoses (such as cancer). My favorite quote is by Elizabeth Kubler Ross; "The most beautiful people we have known are those who have know defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen."

I have learned from my experience that cancer is truly a wild beast; it turns one's life upside down, and perspective inevitably changes. Learning to manage one's emotions, and balance uncertainty with hope is one of the hardest challenges that my patients face, but it can be done with the right skills and understanding. I work every day to help as many people as I can achieve this goal.
