Stomach & Intestinal Cancer
When you or a loved one receives a diagnosis of pancreatic, liver, colon or another cancer of the stomach and intestinal tract, Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center experts are here to offer you hope. As the region’s cancer experts, we provide coordinated, personalized cancer care.
Your Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center team uses advanced technology to precisely diagnose and treat the specific type and stage of your gastrointestinal cancer. We use the latest, most targeted treatments, including the latest clinical trial therapies, to help you fight cancer.
We treat all types and stages of cancer of the stomach and intestinal tract, including:
- Bile duct
- Stomach (gastric)
Our patients benefit from an evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach. That means your case is discussed in detail at regularly scheduled conferences attended by all treating physicians and other healthcare professionals. You will also meet with your team of doctors and support staff in one location, reducing the need to travel to several facilities. A nurse navigator will also be assigned to you and guide you through every step of the way to offer education, coordinate appointments, tests and treatments, and offer you and your family support.
Your physical, emotional and spiritual needs are important, too, so care plans include support services from social workers, psychologists, physical and occupational therapists, nutritionists and chaplains, as well as survivorship services and prevention.
The stomach and intestinal cancer team at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center has specialized education, training and experience in cancer care and includes experts in many specialties.
