Baptist Medical Center Is on the frontline of fighting the opioid, stimulant and alcohol epidemics which continues to claim patient’s lives.
We are looking for an addiction medicine physician to join our growing team of addiction medicine consultation liaison services at Baptist medical center Jacksonville.
As a part of the addiction Consultation liaison team, the right candidate will provide consultations, evaluations and treatment for patients with various substance use disorders including but not limited to Fentanyl /Opioids, Stimulants, Sedatives, Alcohol, Marijuana
The Addictions Medicine Physician will provide comprehensive mental health and addiction services which include but are not limited to addiction medicine and substance abuse evaluation, mental health evaluation and diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment coordination, medication management
Qualifications and requirements :
- active and unrestricted license
- active DEA license
-1 plus years of experience related to Addiction and Psychiatry preferred or equivalent combination of education and experienced to perform the essential duties of the job.
- knowledge of medications utilized for detoxification and medication assisted therapy :methadone and suboxone, indications contraindications interactions, dosing, side effects
-knowledge about co-occurring mental illness and chemical dependency disorders
- knowledge an appropriate use of community resources
-exceptional interpersonal skills and passion working with patients with concurring mental illness and chemical dependency disorders
M-F, daytime hours, no weekends or on-call required
Hybrid model, preferably assessments in-person, but may use telehealth.

Experience
- 1-2 years Fellowship in Addictions Medicine Preferred
License and Certification
- DEA Controlled Substances Registration Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Preferred
- Licensed Physician Required
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License Required
