We were very pleased with Dr. Polifka. Upon our initial visit he explained all my options, answered any questions either my husband or myself had. He was very reasurimg, as I have had other traumatic results from surgeries. Day of surgery he came in and went over everything, then again checked on me daily in hospital room. Post op visit went well. Happy with results so far.

I met with Dr. Shaw???s PA Edward, Edward was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He showed me my MRI and went through it with me frame by frame, explaining what I was seeing. He took his time to answer all of my questions and reviewed all of my options with me. He made the medical info easy to understand for a non-medical layman like me. I was would absolutely recommend Lyerly Neurosurgery Practice.

Edward the PA spoke so fast and sounded scripted. He didn???t feel surgery was for me which is fine but we didn???t feel like he was listening at all. In fact, reading the notes post appt that are in my chart are further proof he wasn???t paying attention. He misreported many of my symptoms, surgeries and complaints. Im sure he is a fin?? PA for those he is interested in but it was clear from early on that he just wanted us out.

We were seen on time. The provider had already reviewed the chart before coming in the room & so was familiar with my past & current neuro/ ortho issues. Though this is the way it needs to be, in my experience, it is uncommon. The provider was friendly, approachable. He did not rush, explained everything well. Answered questions. My husband & I, both physicians, were very satisfied.

Parking garage should be included with appointment scheduling. People who have difficulty walking find it difficult to walk the long distance from parking garage, across hospital, to make it to your office. Front desk personnel, very loud to be at front desk. The young lady answering the phone was literally screaming. I heard her talking about a client who wanted an appointment, but another doctor performed the surgery... basically, the ladies at the front desk do not have to scream at patients checking in. Wait was over an hour. I had to go back to front desk and ask if they were running behind. after I did 10 minutes later someone came and got me. I think I was forgotten. Again, people in Pain waiting to be seen and you are overlooked when you had an appointment is not good.

I was not disappointed in the staff. The staff and Drs are exceptionally nice. So satisfied that this was my second time seeking your help. The first was a spinal fusion 10 years prior. The problem is that you no longer consider people's quality of life when making decisions on whether to help someone. Medically, to me, it was severe enough for me to waste my time and money to seek additional treatment options. To be turned away for help was very difficult and because of that, I wont recommend Lylerly ever again.

Surgery not considered: medication and physical therapy with cortisone shots plan B if A doesn't help. Office difficult to reach for someone needing walker. The examination was very thorough. PA Edward was very thorough and detailed in explaining my medical issues and he explained my MRI images to me in a very common sense way that an ordinary person could understand and how it relates to my back pain. I appreciate the explanation and the knowledge I gained about my condition. I left the appointment in a very positive attitude and had the knowledge in helping me resolve my pain. I liked the wonderful courteous staff,both at the front desk and the back office staff. The waiting time was less than 5 minutes. Mr Edward went over mri and he took time to explain my spinal condition and explained several solutions for me to choose from to help relieve my spinal problem nonsurgically which I really appreciated. I would recommend this office to family and friends.

DX is Pinched Cervical Nerves w/ Cysts and PA Eddie wanted to talk about only the Spinal Colum only. Did not record in record the many EMG's or MRI Reposts, Dr of PT Reports suggest Vagus Nerve Involvement also. Also Mentioned Vocal Cord Parilas DX from ENT Dr and Extensive Scope Procedure. Was told to go back to ENT Dr, Strange when I suggested that he run another EMG & MRI because Katharine has gotten worse and her neck gets caught. Also Katharine was not seeing: blur, pink, double, lines, slanted. Also pointed manual Physical neuro exam which shows pinched nerves, thumbs pulled out, dents in upper top back muscles, lift left arm and push down on head, neuro disruption occurs everytime, causing sparks to fly, poor hand writing. Also mentioned tongue will tingle on one half and pull to Left. SLOPPY INTAKE AND DOES NOT MATCH OTHER DR REPORTS !

For patients in pain give them something for pain. I came in barely able to walk. Actually had to be pushed in a wheelchair by the front desk person who checked me in. Was seen and told I need to go to pain management and let them prescribe me an anti inflammatory and tell them you recommend epidural injections and then I had to walk the entire hospital out on my own. With zero relief.

Started on time. Friendly and helpful receptionists. Edward S PA knew his stuff and could explain it so a retired engineer (me) could easily understand it. Edward took the time to show and explain the MRI. Extremely interesting. He also answered my questions on the Study Result with Narrative & Impression. I understood a lot of it going in but Edward clarified the parts I had questions about. It also was quite a relief that NO neurosurgical intervention was suggested at this time and that a switch from Alive to Meloxicam would be easier on my stomach and give the same benefit I experienced from what I tried at night. Hope it works. Did not feel the need to see the Doctor after meeting with Edward. Also glad to receive and be able to print out the Appointment Details Progress Notes from the Portal. Bob Richter

I didn???t have to wait I was called back in a few minutes after I got their. And all workers seem to work well together and Edward he seems concerned and really listen to me I was glad he ordered an MRI and not leave me wondering what???s wrong. I give Baptist neurosurgeon a ten plus for the way I was treated as a patient and a person and as a human being. Well I've already had one surgery which they said may work it didn't so now I'm back seeing another doctor who is sending me to therapy without mri or x-ray how do you know how to treat there are x-ray and MRI tests done by 2 orthopedic doctors both day therapy won't fix my problem so what gives

The appointment was a waste of time. I'm in severe pain. Was told that there was several places wrong with my spine causing extreme pain but the doctor offered nothing to fix it only to mask the pain with a pain pump. The office was adamant about me bringing my MRI disc to the appointment yet the doctor had already seen it. I am in a wheelchair and have difficulty sitting up as well due positional headaches due to possible spinal fluid leak and since the doctor had already made his mind up what he was going to do before I came in, this appointment could've been over the phone rather than me traveling 45min.

Location is difficult and confusing. The map you sent was helpful to park but we wandered inside for about 15 minutes on the 2nd floor and finally had to ask for directions. I didn???t see directions to go down to the first floor once we crossed the 2nd floor bridge into the hospital so we really couldn???t tell where we were as we walked or which way to turn and ended up in the heart hospital. Dr Saleh answered all questions but I had to ask him to slow down as I was not processing his words fast enough to keep up. It would also help if he used layman???s terms to enhance understanding, especially when dealing with an older person like myself. If I hadn???t had my son who understood the medical terms with me I???d have no idea what was said. I was happy surgery is not recommended at this time and glad to receive a referral for physical therapy. I???m not sure whether there will be any followup following the PT as no future appt was scheduled. I am concerned about what next steps will be suggested if the PT doesn???t work or if I???m just up the creek living with the intense pain I experience whenever I go for a walk, or are on my feet for any length of time. I am also concerned about my worsening neuropathy since the doctor didn???t believe it is related to the nerves in my spine. Does it just continue to worsen until I can no longer walk or is there any further exploration as to the cause and possible remedies that can be done? Bottom line, I???m scheduled for PT but unsure of future steps that are available to me.

Had to call numerours times to get proper physical therapy center scheduled. Went to Baptist South as instructed for cervical xray and they did not have the orders. Received an email prior to a scheduled telphone interview with a link for me to access prior to that call, link did not work. Been a real shit show.

Pa reviewed mri. Stated that I haven issues with my lower back. He stayted further that he did not know what was causing the pain based on the M R I. He did not look at results of xray which nurse had made a copy of for him to read. He stated that "pain management " through Jax Pain and spine would be the way to go. So rather than fix the problem, I should put a band aid on a very painful back. Sent me away in more frustration and worry than before I arrived.

Amazing, kind, check in Reception staff. No long waiting to be seen!!! Edward Saleh, It???s absolutely,incredibly, amazing!!! He???s incredibly kind, thoughtful, the examination was complete. Every aspect of what I was telling him was checked out. Sent for x-rays after x-rays were taken, quick phone call to let me know what they found, Suggested Brooks for therapy, Which is a great idea they???re fabulous there. Also said to call him in a month and let him know how things are going. His phone response time is absolutely the best I have Experienced with any physician!!!!!! He definitely is a keeper don???t ever let him go!!!!
