Matthew Rhodes Biography and Information

Matthew "Matt" Rhodes is a National Faculty ACPE Certified Educator who works with chaplains, residents and certified educator candidates at Baptist Medical Center. As an educator, he helps students learn to offer person-centered, multi-faith care of the soul through deepening their self-awareness, their capacity to express accurate empathy and their sensitivity to the cultural and spiritual experiences of their patients.
A Presbyterian minister, Matt is also a Board-Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and a Certified Healthcare Ethics Consultant through the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities. Within the ACPE, Matt has served as a member of the Revised Outcomes Work Group, as Chair of the Curriculum Committee and as Chair-Elect of the Board of Directors.
Additionally, Matt has served as Board President for Womanspace as well as L'Arche USA, as an executive director for two non-profits, and as a psychotherapist. Having served as Director of Religious Ministries for Penn Medicine Princeton Health for a decade, Matt relocated to the area for his wife, Rachel's, position as Senior Pastor at St. Simons Presbyterian Church.
