HIM Specialist, Health Information Management, Part-Time, Baptist Beaches

Job Summary

Baptist Medical Center is looking to add a Health Information Management Specialist to our Health Information Management department at Baptist Medical Center Beaches. This is a Part-Time opportunity.

This Health Information Management Specialist will primarily hold an Analyst function for our team at Baptist Beaches. As an analyst you will be reviewing documentation from all day stays, discharges, and emergency department visits for both acuracy and completeness of information. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and a high attention to detail. Epic experience is preferred.

Baptist Beaches provides beaches residents with easy access to comprehensive, high-tech medical and surgical care close to home. We offer the only hospital-based, 24-hour emergency service at the beach.

Shift Information: Thursday - Saturday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm 

As a Health Information Management Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Processing ROI requests for medical information for internal/external requesters with proper authorization by consistently following HIPAA guidelines for timely access.
• Scanning retrieving, prepping, and scanning medical information into the electronic medical record, and ensuring data integrity of the scanned documents.
• Analyzing and reviewing all appropriate documents for physician completion in the electronic medical record per regulatory guidelines.
• Processing all transcribed medical reports to assure they are transcribed timely and accurately and file in the correct location in the EMR.
• Other job duties as assigned.

• Certified Coding Specialists - Physician-based (CCS-P) Preferred
• Certified Documentation Improvement Professional, (CDIP) Preferred
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Preferred
• Certified Health Document Specialist (CHDS) Preferred
• Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) Preferred
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Preferred
• Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) Preferred
