Job Summary

Baptist Medical Center is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Cardiology Department in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time opportunity that will work a Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm schedule.

The Medical Assistant will cross train as a front office staff to support them as needed. This position requires a candidate to have strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and flexibility.

Medical Assistant, Baptist Cardiology Department, Job Responsibilities: 

• Provides nursing assistance to physician.
• Obtains vital signs.
• Greets and chaperones patients during medical visit.
• Maintains medical documentation.
• Schedules care, treatment, and diagnostic tests, per physician.
• Processes CLIA waived tests, prescription requests, and referrals.
• Cross trains in front office, referrals area, and other areas (E.G.FP and Peds).

Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Education Preferred

Associate's Degree

Experience

• Two Years Patient Care Experience Preferred
• Experience in Physician's Office Preferred

License and Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Medical Assistant Certification Preferred (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA)
