Job Summary

Baptist Health is currently seeking a Sterile Compounding Supervisor to join our pharmacy department at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a full-time, various-shift opportunity. As a Sterile Compounding Supervisor, you will be responsible for operations at both Baptist Downtown and Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center and supervise a team of compounding technicians split between the two campuses. Your primary responsibility as a Sterile Compounding Supervisor will be to ensure the safe and accurate preparation of sterile medications, adhering to industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices.

This candidate will need to stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice, sterile compounding technologies, and industry trends through ongoing education and professional development. Oversight of pharmacy regulations including the Board of Pharmacy and Joint Commission will be a crucial part of your role as well as maintaining patient safety and ensuring the safe delivery of high-quality sterile medications. One to two years of clinical, inpatient pharmacy experience is required for this role as well as a Pharmacist's license in the State of Florida. A Board Certified Compounding Pharmacist is preferred. 

As a Sterile Compounding Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all compounding rooms, devices, supplies, and personnel are compliant with USP Chapter <797> and USP Chapter <800> regulations as well as any applicable state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Providing direct personnel management of technicians in this space. 
  • Providing training and guidance to ensure compliance with sterile compounding protocols.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives.
