I would like Dr. Cleland to tell me why he thinks my Thyroid is fine when 2 out of 3 test show off the chart, either high or low and go over them with me, explaining each result and what it means. Why does he test different things and not discuss the individual results with me? I know he is the expert in his field of study but why does each test he runs with high or low results not matter or how do they allow him to come to this conclusion My Primary Physician ran test also with my routine annual blood work and she said I needed meds for it. She studied the results he got as well. He just walks in the room and says my Thyroid Nodules are fine, not cancer, after he had done biopsies on one of them, which I appreciate. He took me off my meds my primary gave me in order to retest my Thyroid in 6 weeks without the new meds. At the present time I am off the meds and will see what happens.

The staff from check in to check out was extremely kind and professional. The provider I saw was very friendly and welcoming to myself and my daughter. He could read the apprehension in my face and assured me that things were not as severe as I had imagined. In a very comical yet professional manner, he went over my diagnosis and treatment plan and eased so much of the anxiety I had built up in the weeks waiting for my appointment. I would definitely recommend this practice to others.

Dr. Cleland seemed genuinely concerned about my symptoms. He did not hesitate to order comprehensive testing. The wait was long. An hour overdue but he apologized profusely and explained why. He was recommended by my primary physician and I trust her judgment.

Everyone is always very polite and friendly. I feel like the Dr has done nothing but order bloodwork and say it looks fine. I had some red flags that he didn???t address. He didn???t see the lab work until he came into the room 15 minutes after the nurse left. I think I could get the same care from my pcp. I have lost weight nd feel better but it was nothing he did. Not sure if I will be back.

Upon entering, you are greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff, eager to assist you. Little or no wait time generally.Once inside the patient rooms, the professional staff, Physician Assistants, and doctors (especially Dr. Cleland!!) continue with professional skills, knowledge, and patience. I never feel rushed. Dr Cleland takes time to answer my questions and address my concerns. He has been my endocrinologist for the past five years, since moving to Jacksonville. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I am a new patient that presented for my very first appointment which was at 7:30am. After being roomed the physician presented after I had sat there for over thirty minutes. I believe if my husband hadn???t come out to ask if he was coming the delay would have been longer. No apology, no acknowledgment of the delay by the physician. Then my neck was examined without his hands being washed. Is this the standard of care there? I wonder what would have been done if I had been late after I was told to arrive at 7:15am? No show? A fee maybe? I work with a physician that is chronically late. I got the patient???s Point of view. However, my physician apologizes and thanks the patient for waiting so patiently. My score is generous. We have a sink in the room and my physician uses it prior to exams.

One comment: Very stupid to ask how you identify yourself!!!!! You list all the stupid things ----ridiculous, which are un-natural and mentally disturbed . Then after going through all that foolishness, you have: "Something else". OH, LIke maybe a 'tree" - "bird" - "flower" "monkey" - "dog" - "cat". What idiot comes up with this DOPE anyway. Makes me think there is something wrong with this persons' brain. There are only two sexes, as you perfectly well know. That is a downright insult to intelligence. I would not think the medical profession would be so bent on all this weird gender crap. It is downright unnatural, and you perfectly know it.

I've been a type1 diabetic for 38 years. Dr. Cleland is the BEST doctor I have ever had! He is up to date on the latest trends. At each office visit he makes recommendations on how to improve my control of diabetes. I drive 1 1/2 hours each way to see Dr Cleland because he is a 5 STAR Doctor!

Well seems like I am not actually a patient but a number. Nothing was said about the 30 lb significant weight loss I achieved. I waited 30 minutes for doctor to come in to visit for 10 or 15 minutes. Did not ask to check my feet or pulse in my feet which other doctors usually do after 25+ years of being a diabetic. Felt the visit was really to sell me a product and that said, no one has followed up about insurance coverage which was discussed.

Front desk person was very pleasant and professional. Office and waiting area was clean. Doctor was very accommodating--he had an authorization immediately sent to the infusion center so that I could make my next appointment for Prolia on the same day as my next appt with the endocrinology clinic. However, I have issues with the dr's assistant. She was trying to make corrections on my meds list in EPIC and it took her FOREVER. She kept asking me the same questions over and over and over again. I even gave her the printout of my meds list that I keep in my personal computer. I don't know what was wrong with the meds list in EPIC but she had a difficult time taking my list (which is 100% correct) and entering them into EPIC. For example, she had a difficult time understanding that 2 gummies of vitamin D that I take are equal to a total of 5,000 IUs of Vitamin D, which means each gummie is 2500 IUs. The amount of time this all took was just ridiculous. This is also not the first time I've had an issue with this medical assistant. How do I get a different medical assistant for my next appointment????????

When I went in for my appointment, I was a brand new patient. The nurse took my vitals including my blood sugar levels and A1C. She did not tell me what they were so I thought the doctor would when he came in. When he did come in, he gave me some pamphlets on different diabetic supplies, asked about my period and if I was pregnant, then asked if there was anything else. When I asked if I could know what my A1C was, he acted surprised and told me but did not clarify beyond that. My blood sugar level was 415, and he acted surprised about it as well even though he did not even look at it before I asked. He asked if I needed water, and I said no because I wanted to leave at that point. While I understand the business of a doctor's schedule, I thought there would be more to a brand new patient appointment than there was. The appointment in itself was disappointing in the dismissiveness of the doctor and nurse and lack of care in my diabetic health beyond trying to push diabetic products at me

Thank you for asking. He is a good doctor who is perhaps stuck with a bad system. I am new to Florida. I drove some 20 miles risking a sun stroke to keep my appt. I took the blood tests the day after they were ordered, which was my appt day. When results became available the same day, instead of reviewing and/or revising my current dosages; and instead of asking me if or telling me that i needed new prescriptions, his office called to say that i should setup another in person appt with his assistant. A virtual visit wasnt offered. Which meant i was going to be on incorrect meds or inaccurate dosages of critical meds till i met his asst. I told his office i cannot manage another drive. Besides, i am juggling at least six doctors, their blood test results, and their return visits. I have been getting tested for 35 yrs. I know what my endocrin results mean. My nephrologist with St Vincent reviewed the nephrology results and revised my dosages in one day. Their patient portal is very responsive. His staff is only a phone call away. I am never cutoff from my doctor. The Baptist portal on the other hand wont even let me send him a message which he said is the only way he prefers to communicate. His office takesa very long time if i get connected at all. He would not order recurring tests which are necessary. That made him seem insecure and unsure if his patients will return. Imagine having an emergency. I have a return visit scheduled for Nov. Hopefully it wont be too hot for me to drive. Am trying to become a Connexion candidate. If i dont get approved, then, i will have to rethink on how to make my doctor appts.

I have complete confidence being treated by Dr. Cleland. He listened carefully and took the time to understand my symptoms. He did comprehensive testing in order to arrive at a diagnosis. Other doctors I have seen about my symptoms seem to do the minimal required and then just gave up.

It took 3+ months to get an initial appt and the doctor ordered a bunch of testing. I specifically asked if I would have to wait another 3-4 months to get and appt to go over the results and was told I would get in much sooner than that. When I called (and waited over 30 min to talk to someone) I was given an appt 4 MONTHS later. This is unacceptable. After a portal message to the doctor I did receive a call back from the nurse who was able to give me a preliminary update on all the test results and was able to book an appointment for 2 weeks out.

It is very well run. There aren???t many people in the waiting area, all are called shortly after they arrive (at least in my 2 visits). I very much appreciated seeing Dr Cleland at my first visit, as well as his nurse (ARNP? PA?) who put me at ease. Dr Cleland explained things clearly. At my return visit after my labs came in, I went to the wrong building and run pretty late, but they were still able to work me in. I met Tabitha, PA - I think. She was also very clear about my results and what needed to be done.

I am currently, since May 17th, dealing with a severely blocked ear, with occasional loss of hearing, occasional ringing, pressure and dizziness. I called many times and I was unable to reach anyone by phone, so I left a voicemail. It was never returned. Because I needed an appointment right away, I drove from Saint Augustine up to the office to speak to someone in person and make an appointment that way. I was told I wouldn't be able to be seen until July 6. Seriously?? Are you kidding me?? I cannot continue to live with this ear issue for another 6-7 weeks. I will be looking for a new ENT office. This one sucks. I am finding that most doctors/practices associated with Baptist system cannot accommodate patients, and that all are booked up 3 months in advance. So why bother? I may as well simply use an urgent care walk-in facility or the ER in order to be seen.

I have PTSD??? disabled vet ??? Vietnam war Army nurse: I was greatly triggered by my appointment??? had no idea where I was going??? didn???t realize there was a parking garage???no signs pointing to elevators???didn???t realize there were 2??? told to go to wrong building ??? no signs directing to office??? office ok & Dr. ok albeit extremely brief & dismissive??? ordered labs & ultrasound to be done there??? went to lab they refused to see me as they don???t accept VA patients??? asked for them to call my Dr. .. refused??? referred me to Quest???at this point I was really triggered & instead of yelling which I wanted to do I gave her both of my orders for lab & ultrasound to cancel which of course she wouldn???t & I left & went to my car & cried! Then I tried to call Endocrinology but of course since I didn???t know the extension just got sucked into a robo rotation of endless #???s??? so I just left??? totally upset & exhausted from the whole ordeal!! I plan on calling community care with the VA but have not as yet had a good time to do so. This is why I would not recommend Baptist South Endocrinology.

I really like Dr. Cleland. I also like his helper----Flutura (Fluty). They are both very professional and attempt to make the annual visit streamlined. What I don't like----is how difficult it is to reach a living person when I call the practice. Extreme recordings to navigate, and long wait times before anyone answers. This happened on my last visit as I was having trouble finding the location in the building since the move. I was literally on hold on the phone for 15 minutes. After finally finding the location without phone help, NO ONE in the office was actually talking on the phone. Everyone I saw was talking to coworkers about their weekend. Not acceptable. Answer the phone when it rings.
