I only went to see Dr Sid because my neice who is a cardic nurse gave Dr Sid such a good recomendation having worked with him on several occasions this past year. Neither Dr Sid or any of the people that I asked in the heart unit remembered my neice. Not a very friendly place. When I expressed my total dislike at the idea of having to spend even one night in the hospital there at Baptist downdown due the bad experience of two of my sisters who were there in the past month, it brought back memories of all of the many bad experiences that I and my family have had staying there over the years. I decided that I wanted to get a second opinion with the Mayo Clinic. They couldn't get me out of there quick enough. My oldest sister and a friend had their aordic value replaced at St. Vincent Hospital by a Dr Lee several years ago. They were very pleased. You have a long way to go to improve the nursing care. Communications sucks!

The staff forgot to check me in, I waited almost an hour past my appointment before I got up and asked why I have not been called as I just saw the Doctor I had an appointment with get on elevator and leave The receptionist was very vague and would not answer why she forgot about me, at this time she asked for my drivers license and insurance card. I arrived at the Heart Center at 10:30 am after being called to come in an hour earlier due to a cancellation in my surgeons schedule. I waited 6 HOURS to actually have my procedure started. Absolutely unacceptable. We did not get home until 9:00 pm for a procedure that took 20 minutes. There was no explanation at all. Just left to sit in the waiting area and then in a holding room for hours. Nursing staff was wonderful and sympathetic and had no idea why that happened. I will never recommend this hospital unless you get the first appointment of the day. Incompetence and horrible treatment for a patient.

My medical procedure was scheduled for 12:00 pm and I was prepped and ready. I waited for over four hours and no one checked on me or let me know procedures was backed up. I thought they had forgotten about me. Because it was so late when performed, I had to stay overnight in the hospital. My medical care is wonderful at Baptist but there is a really big need for communication between patient and hospital staff. Thank you.

I am very happy with the care I have been given. The nurses and doctors communicate what the medical process will be and always answer any questions I may have. Also all my appointments, testing, labs, etc are posted on My Baptist Chart, so I have axcess to it, along with my other doctors in the Baptist network.

The television service was horrible! It was grainy and had no local stations. The few stations it did have were not clear, were grainy and were not very good shows. There was no directory to tell me what few I did have. I can???t believe that a huge facility as Baptist Medical Center doesn???t have a better television system than this The intercom system from the nurses station to the patient???s room was barely audible and hard to understand the person speaking. I want to comment on the daytime nursing staff on 3rd floor in the cardiac hospital. Both days I had absolutely fabulous nurses. They were extremely friendly, caring, competent and would go over and above their duty to make me comfortable and to to do everything they could to make my pain better. Even though I have these complaints, I wouldn???t go to another hospital in town. Baptist is the best cardiac hospital anywhere with best physicians and medical staff anywhere! Thanks

I liked everything about Baptist Hospital Heart 3. The staff (RN Jackie, Jessie, Jason, Janard, Tiffany, and the CNA's) were exceptional. Terrific social skills, attentive to my medical needs, and punctual with medications. The Catheter Center (Dr. Sid, Olivia, and Alice) staff exhibited the same social skills and attentiveness. I will give Baptist Hospital a 10. I went in on a Sunday with blocked coronary artery, and left Tuesday with a stint, and a new lease on life. Thank you all for your personal attention. I had a 330 cath didn???t go back till 430. It felt as though they rushed me through it. I got to my room at 630 and th room looked dirty and worn out. The floors were filthy the sink in the bathroom barely drained and the windows had hand ??????? prints all over it ????. My tech was ok my nurse was lost and did not need to be in the heart ward. She let the air out of my wrist bandage too fast and it started to bleed , and ran out of the room getting the head nurse ( who was also lost) she went to take it off and I said don???t I???ll bleed , she took it off and I pumped blood ???? on me and the floor, she put gause over my artery and the plastic thing ,(it stops bleeding) to stop the bleeding.

The people you use to start the check in process (tattoos, nose rings and other piercings) are the first impression of your facility and the type of service anticipated. After dealing with their attitudes. Your shuffled to the next stop with additional staff equally bad tempered. Believe me, neither of us want to be there. The offices and rest rooms are filthy and the general cleanliness of the offices remind one of offices in third world countries. I would only recommend your services as a last resort.

the people on on that floor are caring, seem to work well as a team, have been there a long time (the ones I asked and think of each other as a family) the operating room assistants, not sure what their called are calming cause they do their job so well.
