Dr. Refai is compassionate, thorough, and amazing across the board! I had struggled for years with a gagging reflex that resulted in vomiting. I went to countless doctors, three different psychiatrists, and nobody could ever tell me what was wrong with me. This went on for 7-8 years. I was beginning to think I was crazy or on the verge of passing away. That all changed after Dr. Refai actually LISTENED to what I had to say, and didn't base his diagnosis off of previous diagnoses. Talking with him, I finally felt like someone understood my pain and my symptoms. Not only did I feel heard, he cured my wretching and vomiting with the proper treatment! I feel as though I have a new lease on life! I am forever grateful for Dr. Refai and his skill set. I am so thankful for all of Baptist behavioral health and the blessing of being treated here. The whole system, along with the app, made it very convenient on my end to receive treatment and communicate with the proper people. I've gotten treatment that I had been searching for for years!

I was in the PHP program in April 2023 and my entire experience was exceptional. This was a very stressful time in my life and Erin, Emily and Kate went above and beyond to make my experience with Baptist PHP successful. They also educated and provided me with tools and resources that I can use for managing my depression and anxiety moving forward I would definitely recommend Baptist Health to anyone looking for a program to help them to take the control back of their life. The material was great information but the way it was presented to us by Kate, Erin and Emily is what actually provided me with hope and confidence that I can handle anything that comes my way. Dr. Sharia Refai, MD was very professional, made the appointment very easy and really knows his stuff. Where other doctors were not able to help me, he was able to figure things out in just the one call and now has me on a plan to get me healthy again. I can't thank him enough for being able to put my mind at ease and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Also working with Baptist Health was a very easy and super comfortable process, much more than any other company I have worked with before. Was nice actually being able to get a hold of a real person and talk to them, instead of everything being automated and cold. Would also have no problem recommending Baptist Health, was a very good experience all in all.

My doctor is always prompt in responding to any questions I have. He has always taken care of all my requests, including prior authorizations, quickly. Also, anytime I call the office, the staff are always so polite and concerned. As someone who struggles with mental illness, it really makes me feel good to know that when I call, I won???t get the standard treatment I get when I call a doctor: left on hold for several minutes, talked down to or treated as if I???m bothering someone, transferred to three different people, or never having my call returned or issue resolved. I love the office staff and my provider.

I absolutely love the fact that my doctor really cares about how I feel. He allows me to explain exactly how I am affected by something or troubled and is very concerned about helping solving the issues. Dr. Rafie has really helped me and made me feel like I do matter because when I first started seeing him I felt very much a waste of space,unimportant, burden. Very bad spot I was in and I have gotten a little better and that is because of not only the medicine but just feeling like I mattered so I appreciate that. Sometimes being seen helps too.

Dr. Refai is excellent psychiatrist to help me to improve my awful depression, which is mostly successful. Two issues are: he cancelled me 3 times without any reasons to explain why & Virtual online wasn???t being on time, i waited for about 30 mins one time and other times were 15 mins. Also, virtual needs to improve to have same frames with interpreter, Dr. Refai and me instead of me in very small frame with big frame of Dr. Refai without interpreter and then interpreter without Dr. Refai - ???back & forth???. Overall I???m really glad to have him. In the past i had different psychiatrist for several years that is nothing to help me with depression.

I like that Dr. Refai asks me specific questions about how my medication is working for me during appointments, and how he helps me with my medical questions. He is proactive also by inquiring how psychotherapy is going for me.

I have been seen at BBH for 4-5 years now. I love my therapist and psychiatrist. They both take the time to listen, help with coping strategies, and medicate only when needed. Dr. Refai and Dr. Thames are exceptional providers.

Dr. Refai is an excellent Psychiatrist and is genuinely interested in what is best for the patient. I am happy that such a physician is available in Jacksonville for patients like myself who need mental health care. The staff, including the Dr. Refai's Physicians Assistant - Sarah - are equally helpful and responsive when I have needed assistance. I cannot say I have ever felt anything but positivity from the team at this facility.
