Job Summary

Certified Medical Assistant II, Employee Health, Baptist Jacksonville

Baptist Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant II to support the Employee Health New Hire Clinic. This position plays a critical role in the onboarding process by ensuring all pre-employment health screenings and compliance requirements are completed accurately and efficiently. The Medical Assistant also supports the preparation and execution of Employee Health clinics across all Baptist Health campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process new hire applicants through the Employee Health onboarding program.

  • Collect drug screen specimens following established protocols.

  • Perform phlebotomy for required laboratory testing.

  • Administer PPD (Tuberculin Skin Tests) and immunizations.

  • Conduct respirator fit testing for employees.

  • Enter and maintain accurate employee health information in electronic systems.

  • Ensure compliance with Employee Health policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to new hires and employees.

  • Assist with clinic preparation, organization, and workflow across multiple campuses.

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow infection prevention and safety protocols.

Education and Certifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree preferred.

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience.

  • Experience working in a physician's office or outpatient clinical setting preferred.

  • Experience administering immunizations.

  • Strong data entry and computer skills.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous experience in Employee Health, Occupational Health, or pre-employment screening preferred.
