Job Summary
Baptist Health is looking to add a highly motivated and skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team working at Baptist Medical Center Clay. This is a full-time day shift opportunity in Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing. The shift will be Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.
This candidate should have excellent customer service skills, as they will be working face-to-face with patients and other medical professionals daily. This Medical Laboratory Assistant is a multiskilled individual who may assist with specimen collection and processing, computer registration, order entry, computer accessioning and specimen distribution.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing the duties of a phlebotomist in an outpatient laboratory setting.
- Utilizing computer systems in the processing of laboratory specimens.
- Retrieving specimens from pneumatic tube system and processes specimens according to specimen type.
- Distributing specimens to different areas of the laboratory.
- Coordinating specimen pick-ups for referral testing.
- Preparing specimen transfer lists and packages specimens in accordance with laboratory policy for transport.
