JOB DESCRIPTION
Baptist Hospitalists provide around-the-clock inpatient care through a collaborative team of physicians and advanced practice providers dedicated to delivering high-quality care across the continuum. The hospital medicine team is seeking an experienced APP Supervisor to serve as a clinical leader and operational partner supporting APPs across the service line. This hybrid leadership role combines direct patient care with administrative responsibilities, helping drive workforce development, operational consistency, quality outcomes, and team engagement.
The APP Supervisor functions as a practicing clinician while providing frontline operational oversight, peer leadership, mentorship, scheduling support, onboarding coordination, and performance guidance. Working closely with physician leadership, operational leaders, nursing teams, and APP professional development resources, this position ensures a high-performing and well-supported APP workforce across Hospital Medicine programs.

Schedule
This position follows a rotating 7-on/7-off model:
- Clinical Week: Seven consecutive days, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Hospital Medicine locations based on operational needs
- Administrative Week: Seven consecutive days, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., focused on leadership, recruitment, scheduling, onboarding, meetings, and operational oversight
- Regular onsite rounding and participation in meetings throughout Hospital Medicine locations
- Remote administrative work opportunities when onsite presence is not required
- Seven consecutive days off after each two-week work cycle

What You Will Need
- Master's or Doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (MSN, DNP, MPAS, DMSc, or equivalent)
- Current, unrestricted Florida APRN or PA-C licensure
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in Hospital Medicine or Critical Care/ICU
- Prior leadership, precepting, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication, team-building, and operational management skills
- Baptist Hospitalists are internists and family physicians who exclusively practice in the hospital, working in partnership with outpatient and post-acute care physicians to provide care across the spectrum. Administrative responsibilities may require occasional flexibility outside scheduled hours to accommodate meetings, team needs, recruitment activities, and operational priorities.
Administrative hours are intentionally structured differently from the 12-hour clinical schedule to provide flexibility for the responsibilities of a leadership role. The Supervisor is expected to accommodate meetings, employee needs, recruitment activities, operational issues, and other leadership responsibilities that may occasionally require availability outside of the regularly scheduled administrative week.
