Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, located in beautiful Northeast Florida, is actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Hematology/Medical Oncology team within the Division of Cancer Medicine.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Hematology and Medical Oncology team located at Baptist South. This role provides the opportunity to care for a complex oncology population across both inpatient and outpatient settings while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The NP will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the continuum of cancer treatment, from diagnosis through active therapy, survivorship, and supportive care.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and management of adult patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumors in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Conduct new patient consultations, follow-up visits, treatment-related assessments, and symptom management visits
  • Manage patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and other systemic treatments, including monitoring for and managing treatment-related toxicities
  • Collaborate closely with attending physicians, nursing, pharmacy, infusion services, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans
  • Participate in inpatient rounding, admissions, discharges, and transitions of care as assigned
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, symptom management, and supportive care needs
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, prescribe medications, and perform procedures within scope of practice and collaborative agreements
  • Document clinical care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and institutional goals

  • Hours: Monday – Friday
  • Shared night and weekend call: supports patients/ hospital calls from home
