Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, located in beautiful Northeast Florida, is actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Surgical Oncology team within the Division of Surgery. In support of our mission, we recently opened a 330,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility dedicated solely to oncology care—designed to enhance the patient experience and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Position OverviewWe are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support the Section of Surgical Oncology. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in oncology and surgical specialties. Responsibilities Include:- Patient population: Providing care for patients with malignant and complex conditions of the gastrointestinal tract (including liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and stomach), skin, and soft tissues (including melanoma and sarcoma) - Inpatient care: - First-assistant in the OR (robot, laparoscopic, open cases). - Rounding on patients in the acute post-operative phase who are admitted to the hospital for surgical oncology and colorectal surgery - Post-operative wound care and pain management - Timely collaboration with consulting physicians - Coordinating discharges from the hospital - Evaluation of new consults. - Outpatient Care: evaluates new and existing patients in collaboration with staff physicians, as well as a multidisciplinary team, completes outpatient documentation in a timely fashion, and performs clinic procedures as applicable. - Hours: Monday - Friday - Shared night and weekend call: home call for service during the week, and weekend call with inpatient rounding and OR coverage for emergency cases.
