Patient Access Representative III, Emergency Department, Full-Time, Days, Baptist ED St. Augustine

Job Summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative III to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist ED St. Augustine in St. Augustine, FL.

This is a full-time opportunity an on-call team during week-long rotations. This role requires flexibility to work across multiple patient access areas and travel to assignments within an assigned region of Baptist facilities.

Shift Details: Wednesday-Saturday, 9:30 AM–8:00 PM

Patient Access team plays a critical role in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring accurate registration, regulatory compliance, and efficient access to care. This role is ideal for an experienced patient access professional who is comfortable working across multiple systems and locations, has a strong understanding of healthcare regulations, and can provide coaching and feedback to improve team compliance and accuracy.

Patient Access Representative III Job Responsibilities:

• Register patients accurately and efficiently while utilizing multiple systems and interfaces
• Maintain cross-training and flexibility to work across multiple patient access areas and assigned Baptist facilities
• Provide service excellence to patients and visitors through face-to-face and telephonic interactions
• Contribute to Patient Access Services (PAS) goals and initiatives, including collections, palm scanning, and other departmental objectives
• Maintain knowledge of and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, including EMTALA, AHCA, and Joint Commission requirements
• Ensure required patient consent forms and compliance documentation are accurately completed
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Maintain professional relationships with clinical and non-clinical team members across the organization
• Participate in week-long on-call rotations and work rotating schedules as requiredSelect an assigned region consisting of four Baptist facilities and travel to designated assignments within the region
• Coach and support team members while providing quality feedback to improve compliance, accuracy, and overall performance

Patient Access Representative III Experience:

• 1–2 years of Customer Service Experience (required)
• 1–2 years of Healthcare Experience (required)
• 1–2 years of Insurance Experience (required)
• Experience with patient registration and multiple patient access systems (preferred)
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, including EMTALA, AHCA, and Joint Commission standards (preferred)

Patient Access Representative III Education & Credential Requirements:

• High School Diploma (required)
