Job Summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Patient Access Supervisor to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist ED Town Center in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time shift opportunity at Baptist Beaches.

The Emergency Department Patient Access team supports the patient experience by ensuring accurate registration, efficient access processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Patient Access Supervisor provides daily leadership to the assigned area, supports team performance and staffing needs, and partners with clinical and non-clinical teams to maintain service excellence. The ideal candidate will have healthcare and patient access experience along with demonstrated leadership experience.

Patient Access Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

• Provide daily leadership to the assigned Patient Access area in coordination with the PAS Manager, including staffing and operational support.

• Register patients accurately and efficiently while ensuring required patient consent and compliance documentation is completed.

• Utilize multiple systems and interfaces and cross-train team members to support multiple Patient Access areas.

• Maintain service excellence for patients and visitors through professional face-to-face and telephonic interactions.

• Support departmental Patient Access Services (PAS) goals, including collections, palm scanning, and other established performance measures.

• Maintain knowledge of and effectively communicate applicable state and federal regulations, including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO requirements.

• Assist with the on-call rotation and staffing needs for the assigned area while maintaining patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and fostering professional relationships with clinical and non-clinical team members.

Patient Access Supervisor Experience:

• 1–2 years of Customer Service experience (Required)

• 1–2 years of Healthcare experience (Required)

• 1–2 years of Insurance experience (Required)

• 1–2 years of Leadership experience (Required)

• 1–2 years of Patient Access Services experience (Required)

• 1–2 years of Patient Financial Services experience (Required)

• 1–2 years of Scheduling experience (Required)

Patient Access Supervisor Education & Credential Requirements:

• High School Diploma (Required)

• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) within 90 days of hire. (Required)
