Wolfson Children's Hospital is looking to add a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to our Acute Care Rehab Team in downtown Jacksonville, FL.

This is a Part-Time opportunity working in an acute care, inpatient hospital setting at Wolfson Children's Hospital and community hospital settings.

This position will provide Day shift coverage Monday - Friday and participate weekend and holiday rotations. The Ideal candidate has prior Speech Language Pathology experience working in acute care settings, including NICU experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses.

  • Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions and deficits which impact communication, language development, oral motor skills, and feeding safety and efficiency.

  • Diagnoses which commonly impact these developmental areas include prematurity, neurological, respiratory, cardiac, GI, genetic, craniofacial and developmental delay.

  • Provides extensive patient/family education.

  • Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc.

  • Works in a fast-paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self-directed, and effective communication skills.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1 or more year(s) of pediatric acute care Speech Language Pathology Experience strongly preferred

  • Speech/Language Experience

  • Voice and Neuro Experience

Education & Credential Requirements:

  • Master of Science Or Master of Arts Required

  • Doctorate of Arts/Science Or Master of Science Preferred

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Required

  • Florida Department of Health Speech Language Pathologist License Required

  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association
