We’re hiring a Speech Language Pathologist for our Hospital At Home Department in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a Full-Time Days position which will provide patient home-based healthcare throughout the Jacksonville community. The schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday with no weekend or holiday commitments.

This full-time Speech Language Pathologist Therapist position will provide in-home patient care support (commuting involved to patient homes within the Jacksonville metro area with mileage reimbursement). This Speech Language Pathologist will also provide floating coverage support to Baptist Health acute care rehab units in coordination with Rehab Services leadership beyond in-home patient care appointments as scheduling permits. The ideal candidate would have SLP experience in both acute care and home health settings. Candidates with experience and interest in program / new service development are preferred.

We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to join our Rehab Services Team at Baptist Medical Center. This position requires a candidate with at least 1 year of recent experience working in an acute care setting, home health patient care experience, and experience providing direct orthopedic and neurological physical care. This is a Full-Time opportunity working day shift hours.

Speech Language Pathologist, Acute Care Rehab, Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses.

  • Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions and deficits which impact communication, language development, oral motor skills, and feeding safety and efficiency.

  • Diagnoses which commonly impact these developmental areas include prematurity, neurological, respiratory, cardiac, GI, genetic, craniofacial and developmental delay.

  • Provides extensive patient/family education.

  • Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc.

  • Works in a fast-paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self-directed, and effective communication skills.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1 or more year(s) of home health Speech Language Pathology Experience strongly preferred

  • 1 or more year(s) of acute care Speech Language Pathology Experience strongly preferred

  • Speech/Language Experience

  • Voice and Neuro Experience

Education & Credential Requirements:

  • Master of Science Or Master of Arts Required

  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist Required

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence Required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required from the American Heart Association Required
