Speech Language Pathologist, PRN, Acute Care Rehab - Baptist Nassau

Baptist Medical Center is currently looking to add a Speech Language Pathologist to our Acute Care Rehab Team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a PRN opportunity at Baptist Nassau in Fernandina Beach, FL (Nassau County).

This is a PRN opportunity working in an acute care, inpatient hospital setting. The ideal candidate would be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and holiday rotations and has had at least 2 years of previous experience working in acute care settings, including experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies.

Speech Language Pathologist, Acute Care Rehab, Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses.

• Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions/dysfunctions such as neurological (stroke, seizures, movement disorders, Guillain barre), respiratory, and general medical conditions which impact swallowing, speech, language or cognitive-communication skills.

• Provides extensive patient/family education.

• Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc.

• Works in a fast-paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self-directed, and effective communication skills.

Speech Language Pathologist, Acute Care Rehab, Experience Requirements:

• 1 or more year(s) acute care Speech Language Pathology experience strongly preferred

• Speech/Language Experience

• Voice Experience

• Neuro Experience

Education & Credential Requirements:

• Master of Science Or Master of Arts Required
• Licensed Speech Language Pathologist Required
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required from the American Heart Association Required
