Baptist Health chief nursing officer recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives by Modern Healthcare magazine

Jacksonville, FL

Baptist Health is proud to announce that Tammy Daniel, DNP, senior vice president and chief nursing officer, was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of this year’s 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives. The complete ranking is featured in the June 21 issue of Modern Healthcare, and profiles of the honorees are available at ModernHealthcare.com/50MostInfluential.

The recognition program acknowledges clinicians working in the health care industry who are deemed by their peers and an expert panel to be the most influential in terms of demonstrating leadership and impact. Clinical leadership is needed now, more than ever, to champion evidence-based approaches that will mitigate the impact of the pandemic and address the longstanding health inequities that have become even clearer as a result of the crisis.

“The 2021 class of 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives did not shy away from the challenges of caring for patient populations during a pandemic. They found inspiration in knocking down hurdles and fighting for top-quality care for their patients and staff,” said Aurora Aguilar, Modern Healthcare editor.

Among her many accomplishments in the past 16 months, Dr. Daniel chaired the COVID-19 vaccination administration team at Baptist Health and was instrumental in helping set up and staff the first public drive-thru COVID-19 testing site in Jacksonville in partnership with the City of Jacksonville. Dr. Daniel also assisted in surge capacity planning by assisting in the formation of field hospitals at three Baptist Health hospitals and was personally involved in ensuring that Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) was available for the entire care team at Baptist Health, which numbers more than 13,000 team members and includes more than 4,000 nurses.

“As the chief influencer of high-quality, compassionate patient care in our five-hospital health system, Dr. Daniel has earned the respect of our clinical staff,” said Michael A. Mayo, DHA, FACHE, president and CEO of Baptist Health. “On behalf of everyone whose lives have been impacted by Dr. Daniel's leadership, we congratulate her on this well-deserved, national recognition.”
