Baptist Health expands care in St. Johns County with new medical campus in SilverLeaf
The location offers high-quality outpatient services, including primary care and cardiology, with emergency care for adults and children to follow in September.
Jacksonville, FL.
As western St. Johns County continues to grow, Baptist Health is meeting the demand for comprehensive outpatient care with tomorrow’s opening of a new medical campus in SilverLeaf. Built with patient convenience in mind, Baptist SilverLeaf Medical Campus expands access to high-quality health care close to home for residents of the new master-planned community and nearby neighborhoods.
Located at 8595 St. Johns Parkway in St. Augustine, Baptist SilverLeaf Medical Campus will serve a rapidly expanding region with around 1.02 million people living within a 30-minute drive. The area’s population is projected to grow 9.3% by 2031.
“We believe health care should grow alongside the communities it serves,” said Matthew A. Zuino, MSIS, FACHE, president and CEO of Baptist Health. “More than a million people now call the area surrounding SilverLeaf home, and building a medical campus here demonstrates our commitment to ensuring residents have access to quality preventive and specialty care where they live and work.”
This marks the completion of the first phase of construction at Baptist SilverLeaf Medical Campus with the site designed to allow for future growth as the community’s needs grow. Opening tomorrow are offices for primary care, cardiology, rehabilitation and laboratory services, plus a wellness center offering helpful information on nutrition and tips for healthy living. Orthopedics and neurology specialists will begin receiving patients in the fall. The campus’s emergency center for adults and children is scheduled to open in September.
All services are backed by the strength of the region’s largest and most preferred health system, giving patients access to Baptist Health’s robust network of care and expertise.
“This is more than a new medical campus; it is a gateway to the full breadth of care and expertise offered at Baptist Health,” said Eric Fletcher, MBA, FACHE, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at Baptist Health. “Patients receive personalized care locally, knowing that it is supported by the substantial resources of our health care system.”
An emergency center, opening in September, will further enhance the range of services available at SilverLeaf. It will house two emergency centers under one roof – one for adults and one designed specifically for patients ages 0 to 18. The new ER will provide families with easy access to the specialized pediatric care of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, the only full-service children’s hospital in the region and the only ACS-verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the region.
