Baptist Medical Center Nassau announces new board member

Hackett appointed to the 13-member board of directors

Karen Hackett, LFACHE, FASAE, CAE, retired CEO of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), was recently named to the board of directors for Baptist Medical Center Nassau.

Hackett was with the AAOS from 2003 until 2017, when she retired. The Academy serves as a provider of musculoskeletal education to orthopaedic surgeons, develops clinical practice guidelines, and focuses on enhancing the quality of orthopaedic care. The Association is a source for health policy and advocacy on behalf of surgeons and their patients.

Hackett holds a MBA from Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill., and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla. She currently serves on the UCF’s College of Business Dean’s Advisory Board and its Integrated Business Degree Board. She also volunteers with the Baptist Medical Center Nassau Auxiliary.
