Baptist Medical Center Nassau earns prestigious 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

Baptist Medical Center Nassau has been awarded a 5-star rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), placing it among the top-performing hospitals in the nation for patient care and safety.

CMS assigns star ratings to more than 4,500 hospitals across the United States, with most receiving 3 or 4 stars. A 5-star rating is the highest possible designation and reflects excellence in multiple quality and safety measures, including:

  • Mortality
  • Readmissions
  • Safety of care
  • Patient experience
  • Timely and effective care

“This recognition is a reflection of our entire team’s dedication to quality and safety,” said Hospital President Tara Beth Anderson, MSN, RN, NE-BC. “To be rated as one of only 11 hospitals in Florida with five stars is a tremendous achievement. We continuously evaluate and improve how we deliver care to ensure our patients receive the best possible outcomes.”

The 5-star CMS rating adds to Baptist Nassau’s ongoing track record of excellence. The hospital has earned an ‘A’ grade in patient safety from the Leapfrog Group for eight consecutive years, and its patient experience scores currently rank in the 90th percentile, according to Press Ganey, a national leader in health care performance analysis.

Hospital Compare ratings come from data that hospitals report to CMS, the federal agency that runs the Medicare program. The ratings, based on Medicare and non-Medicare patients, are intended to help consumers make informed decisions about where to receive care.
