Baptist Health has been recognized in the Jacksonville Business Journal’s 2022 Healthiest Employer awards for providing a best-in-class healthy workplace for its team members and promoting a culture of health and well-being within its team.

“Baptist Health recognizes that each of our team members has different health needs and interests,” said Kate McCann, MHRD, senior vice president and chief human resources officer, Baptist Health. “We are committed to enhancing and supporting their well-being through a variety of options we offer under our ‘Healthy for Life’ wellness program.’”

Healthy For Life uses an evidence-based approach to engage, educate and empower team members at Baptist Health to optimize their physical and mental well-being. The program continually evolves based on feedback from team members and the application of best practices. Enhancements to the program over the past year include:

  • Increased the number of free counseling visits provided by Baptist Behavioral Health to team members and dependents from 5 to 10 visits per year
  • Enhanced nutrition services with a virtual meal planning solution and access to a nutrition coach
  • Implemented a mental wellness program to help team members learn strategies to overcome hurdles, increase motivation and self-care, and balance work and life
  • Partnered with a national fitness program to offer discounts at local gyms, as well as access to 4,500+ on-demand exercise videos and coaches for lifestyle modification

Baptist Health’s focus on employee well-being isn’t limited to its own workplace. The health system also helps area employers implement their own wellness programs through its Personalized Approach To Health (PATH) program, which is designed to help meet the unique health and wellness needs of their workforce.
