Sharon Eddins Biography and Information

Sharon Eddins, MDiv, joined Baptist Health in 1993. She serves as the Senior Chaplain for Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

Chaplain Eddins has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida and a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Following one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Baptist Medical Center while in seminary, Eddins completed a Residency/Pediatric Fellowship in CPE at Baptist Medical Center from 1993 to 1995. She then became the Associate Director of The Department of Pastoral Care and Counseling at the Medical College of Georgia’s Children’s Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Eddins is certified as a Counselor/Coordinator with Resolve Through Sharing, a Storyteller with The Godly Play Foundation, and is board-certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains. She is ordained and endorsed for ministry with the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. She maintains active membership with the national Pediatric Chaplains Network, regularly facilitates support groups and remembrance events, and is available as needed to educate and respond to situations regarding children and grief and loss. Eddins has also received her certification in HeartMath stress reduction techniques.
