Tom Chappell Lewis Biography and Information

Tom Chappell Lewis first joined the Baptist Health team as an intern in 2016 before going on to serve as a resident and PRN chaplain on multiple Baptist campuses. In his time with Baptist and UF Health Hospital of Jacksonville, Tom specialized in emergency medicine, trauma and team member support. He officially joined the Wolfson team in February of 2022 and says he has a passion for "caring for people on their toughest days."
Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Kenyon College and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, where he also served as a campus chaplain. Ordained in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship in 2011, Tom served as a youth minister for 7 years before entering Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Tom also holds a certification in Mental Health First Aid.
Tom is originally from Memphis, TN. In his downtime, he enjoys playing guitar, creating art out of post-it notes and time with his wife and daughter. Tom carries a deep appreciation of superheroes and enjoys using popular movies to teach deeper themes about spirituality and belonging.
