Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Ortho Surgical First Assist to join our Surgical Services team on the Orthopedic Team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville (Downtown). This full-time, day-shift role works four 10-hour shifts (6:30am–5:00pm). Orthopedic experience required.
As a Ortho Surgical First Assist for the OR, your responsibilities include:
- Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.
- These tasks include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon preference
- Patient positioning
- Provide visualizatoin of operative site
- Utilizes techniques to provide hemostasis
- Assist with body plan closure
- Advanced skills as competency tested
- Participate actively in the safe surgery checklist briefing and debriefing
- Assists in turnover of operating room
Experience Requirements:
- 2 years Operating Room Experience Required
Education & Credential Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant (CSTFA) Required Or
- Surgical Assistant Certification (SA-C) Required Or
