Job Summary

Baptist MD Anderson is looking for a Genetic Counselor to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida!

The Genetic Counselor demonstrates ability to perform comprehensive initial and episodic health histories in order to identify existing or potential health problems. Conducts individualized cancer risk assessment, risk notification and counseling with individuals and/or their families. Provides health education to the patient, families, community and other healthcare professionals.

As a Genetic Counselor you will be responsible for:

  • Performs comprehensive initial and episodic health histories to identify existing and potential health concerns, ensuring accurate documentation and appropriate follow-up care.

  • Conducts individualized cancer risk assessments, including risk stratification, notification of results, and evidence-based counseling for patients and their families.

  • Develops and implements personalized care plans based on assessed risk factors, medical history, and current clinical guidelines.

  • Provides education to patients, families, community members, and healthcare professionals regarding cancer prevention, screening recommendations, and risk-reduction strategies.

  • Maintains required licensure and certification; candidates holding temporary licensure must obtain applicable certification within one year of hire.

Education & Credential Requirements:

  • Master of Science Required
  • Certified Genetic Counselor, ABGC Required
  • Licensed Genetic Counselor Required
