Job Summary

The Pediatric Diabetes Center is looking for a Community Educator to join our team at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. This role is responsible for being a part of the diabetes education team and providing ongoing education and support to the patients and families of the Pediatric Diabetes Center in the setting of the hospital and the clinic.

Job Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Nemours and the hospital staff this role develops a treatment plan specific to each individual’s patient’s needs.
  • This role will support the manager by supervising the department, developing policies and procedures, developing and managing the clinic schedule, managing the CMS grant, payroll, point person for ADA and JDRF, facilitating training on insulin pumps with vendors, work with manager on budget and revenue reports, and development of efficient workflows.

Experience:

  • 3-5 Years of Acute Patient Care Experience Required
  • 1-2 years Program Coordination (Development, Execution, and Maintenance) Required
  • 1-2 years Clinical Inpatient Nutrition Care Experience Required

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse or Licensed Dietitian Required
