Lead Security Officer, Baptist Town Center ED

Job Summary

We are looking to add a Security Officer to our Protective Services Department at our Baptist Medical Center Town Center ED location. This is a full-time, days opportunity, Monday through Friday.

The Security Officers primary function is to assure the day-to-day safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring the medical center properties. As patient safety and experience are top priority this growing team is currently implementing new technologies such as metal detectors.

Shift Details:

As a Security Officer you will be responsible for:

• The senior security officer provides all the services of a safety and security officer.
• This position also receives special training in other areas such as, investigations, security equipment, administration, safety, haz mat, training.
• Reporting any unusual circumstances, and take appropriate corrective actions
• Insuring the protection of individuals from harm by monitoring for safety hazards
• Providing escort services
• Respond to unsafe situations
• Enforce hospital parking regulations
• Assist individuals with obtaining help for vehicle problems

License and Certification

• International Assn for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Supervisor Certification Preferred
• International Assn for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Advanced Certification Preferred

The new 16-bed emergency center at the St. Johns Town Center houses two emergency centers under one roof - one for adults and one for children.  Conveniently located near the intersection of Interstate 295 and Town Center Parkway, the Baptist/Wolfson Children's emergency center is a true hospital ER, staffed 24/7 by board-certified emergency medicine physicians.  On-site technology includes ultrasound, CT scanner, X-ray, a full service laboratory and telemedicine consultation services.
