Job Summary
Baptist Health is currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Histology department at Baptist Medical Center. This is a PRN shift opportunity with various shifts. This candidate must be able to cover shifts between 10:00am and 7:00pm and available for 6-10 weeks of full time training.

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant in the Histology Department, this team member supports the processing of tissue specimens by receiving, labeling, and preparing samples, assisting with embedding and workflow tracking, and maintaining a clean, safe laboratory environment. This role works closely with histotechnologists and pathologists to ensure accurate specimen handling, proper documentation, and timely turnaround of histology samples.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, you will be responsible for:
- Performing a variety of clerical and technical duties associated with the pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.
- Communicating laboratory results and responds to specimen-related questions from physicians and various other caregivers.
- Collecting blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.
- Utilizing computer functions.
