Job Summary

Baptist Health is currently looking for a Medical Lab Scientist II to join our team at our new Medical Bridge Clinic! This is a full-time, day shift opportunity! This candidate will work Monday through Thursday, 8:00am - 6:00pm. This is a great opportunity at our new clinic!

This Medical Lab Scientist II will be supervised by the Director and Section Supervisors, however, they can perform all responsibilities of this job description without on-site supervision. This candidate must hold a valid Medical Technologist - Generalist license in the State of Florida and have atleast two years of experience as a Medical Lab Scientist. This candidate will need to have a strong laboratory background with experience that includes working in the state of Florida with our CLIA associates in Tallahassee, and under a Moderate Complex Lab.

The Medical Bridge Clinic is an innovative new outpatient concept being introduced to the Baptist Health system and the Jacksonville community. This adults-only, referral-based clinic is designed to provide timely, scheduled care for patients who visit the ER with non-urgent needs — helping to reduce emergency room volumes and improve access for high-acuity patients. Key Services Include: Vaccinations, Pregnancy testing, Stitches and minor procedures, as well as other non-emergent care needs.

As a Medical Lab Scientist II, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining the expertise and performing technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in one or more laboratory sections
• Maintaining records of performance as defined in the laboratory's general and sectional policy and procedure manuals
• Maintaining records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Instructing new employees, MT, and MLT students.
