Job Summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the soon-to-open Weaver Tower 6 General Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in launching a new inpatient unit while building and leading a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the 24/7 leadership, clinical oversight, and operational management of a fast-paced, high-acuity, 24-bed PCU unit. This leader will help establish the culture, workflows, and operational excellence of Weaver Tower 6 while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care and supporting team member engagement and development.

Key responsibilities include leading nursing and support staff, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Nurse Manager is accountable for workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, staff development, and retention initiatives that foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 operational and clinical leadership for a 24-bed General PCU.
• Lead the successful opening and ongoing operations of Weaver Tower 6.
• Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
• Build, mentor, and develop a highly engaged nursing team focused on clinical excellence.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and evaluate nursing staff while promoting professional growth and continuing education.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational and patient care goals.
• Monitor quality metrics and implement data-driven performance improvement initiatives.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, and departmental fiscal performance.
• Address patient and family concerns in a timely and effective manner while supporting efforts to improve patient satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and standards established by accrediting organizations, including The Joint Commission and CMS.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, decision-making, and financial management skills.

Preferred Experience

• 3–5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care setting.
• Previous experience leading a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Step-Down Unit, Telemetry Unit, or similar high-acuity inpatient environment preferred.
• Experience leading teams through growth, change management, or unit openings strongly preferred.

Education & Credential Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) – Required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification – Required
• Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC) – Preferred
