Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, located in beautiful Northeast Florida, is actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Thoracic Surgery team within the Division of Surgery.

Position Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will play a vital role in the care of thoracic surgery patients across all phases—outpatient clinic, operating room, inpatient care, and post-operative follow-up, including long-term surveillance for cancer patients.
Key Responsibilities
Outpatient Care:
Manage patients independently in clinic, including post-operative visits, cancer surveillance, and urgent issues.
Perform outpatient procedures such as ultrasound-guided thoracentesis and chest tube removal.
Collaborate with RNs to triage postoperative concerns and patient messages.
Complete clinic notes, orders, and referrals in a timely manner.
Participate in weekly tumor boards and work within a multidisciplinary team.
Inpatient Responsibilities:
Round independently on post-operative patients, managing chest tubes, drains, wounds, pain control, labs, imaging, and discharges.
Evaluate and present new thoracic surgery consults in coordination with the supervising physician.
Procedural/ Operating Room:
First-assist in open, minimally invasive, and robotic thoracic surgical procedures.
Complete perioperative notes and orders as required.
Support interventional pulmonology procedures
Hours: Monday- Friday
Call:
Rotating night and weekend call
Home call coverage for thoracic surgery
Weekend inpatient rounding and emergency OR coverage as needed.
Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current Florida licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
1-2 years of experience as a first assist or RNFA preferred, robot experienced preferred
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to function autonomously in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
