Job Summary
Baptist Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Pediatric Float Pharmacist to join our team at Wolfson Children's Hospital. This is a full-time, various shift, opportunity working days and evenings with an every 4th weekend commitment. The major job responsibilities of this position are pharmaceutical care to primarily neonatal and to a lesser extent pediatric patients, drug distribution support, clinical interventions, participation in investigational drug studies, teaching, and pharmacy representation on pediatric medical committees. This candidate is expected to participate in the teaching programs of Baptist Medical Center and Wolfson Children’s Hospital, including the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program as well as educational activities such as precepting students affiliated with several Colleges of Pharmacy in the state of Florida. This candidate will need to have pediatric experience as they will float between all areas of Wolfson Children's Hospital.
As a Pediatric Pharmacist, you will be responsible for:
- Entering orders with great accuracy
- Checking technician work for accuracy prior to release of medications and solutions to the floor.
- Supervising technicians and serving on committees as assigned.
- Answering questions for all health care professionals
- Serving as a consultant for members of the medical staff
- Monitoring patient therapy as assigned, including pharmacokinetics service.
Pediatric Pharmacist Experience:
- 1-2 years Hospital Pharmacy Experience
- 1-2 years Experience with Automated Dispensing Devices
- Residency Training
- Experience with Pharmacy Information Systems
Education & Credential Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science (Non Nursing) Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
- Registered Pharmacist Required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Licensed Pharmacist Required
