Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist Emergency at Oakleaf in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a Full-Time opportunity working Night Shift with a commitment of 36 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are 7:00PM-7:00AM.

Baptist Emergency at Oakleaf provides convenient access to high-quality emergency care for residents of the rapidly growing Oakleaf and southwest Jacksonville communities. The emergency center is equipped to treat a wide range of urgent and emergent conditions while delivering the trusted care Baptist Health is known for.

Registered Nurse, Job Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition
• Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement
• Educate patients and families to their disease process and plan of care
• Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital
• Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
• Act as the patient advocate
• Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities

Experience Requirements:

• 1-2 years Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
• Emergency Department Experience Preferred
• Hospital Experience
• Telemetry Experience

Education & Credential Requirements:

• Associate of Science in Nursing Required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred
• Licensed Registered Nurse Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
• Certified Emergency Registered Nurse (CEN) Preferred
• Conscious Sedation Certification Preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification Preferred
• Trauma Nurse Core Course Certification (TNCC) Preferred

Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel; coordination of care provided by ancillary services• Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care• Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care• Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.Certification- ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs• PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED.
